Roy "Big Country" Nelson Joins ProFighting-fans.com for Weekly TUF Conversations

Each episode of The Ultimate Fighter 10 Heavyweights will be followed by interview with Big Country

Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter reality show is scheduled to begin airing on Spike TV September 16, and ProFighting-fans.com is excited to announce that one of this season’s biggest and most experienced stars, Roy “Big Country” Nelson (13-4 MMA) will be joining our own Scott Dryden each and every week in an exclusive interview series to discuss the entire season in detail one week at a time.

Fighting out of Las Vegas, Nevada, Roy Nelson is by far one of the most experienced fighters to enter the TUF house in years. With a 13-4 professional record, including notable fights with Ben Rothwell, Brad Imes, Andrei Arlovski and Jeff Monson, he will certainly be a favorite heading into this season of heavyweights.

After a stellar 2007-08 season, Nelson has since tasted defeat in his last two fights, against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski after a controversial stand-up occurred midway through the bout, halting Nelson’s offensive attack, and then again against Jeff Monson in a controversial Unanimous Decision that most—including Monson himself—feel should have gone to the Las Vegas fan favorite.

Looking to capitalize on the significant exposure Spike TV is able to garner fighters through the TUF reality show, Nelson is hoping to make a name for himself amongst casual fans with his infamous belly rub, charismatic persona, and legitimate fighting skills under UFC superstar coaches Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans.

Joining Nelson in the house will be a stacked cast of notable fighters and athletes including Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, Wes Sims, and four former NFL players. With the added drama of a public feud between coaches Jackson and Evans sure to produce some serious ratings, The Ultimate Fighter 10 Heavyweights could be the most successful entry into the UFC’s most prized promotional engine to date.
