Intimidation Clothing Sponsors Greg Nagy at Strikeforce: Miami

Nagy to face football legend Herschel Walker on January 30 at Strikeforce: Miami

Intimidation Clothing, a new MMA clothing and apparel company based out of Ohio is proud to announce our official sponsorship of Greg Nagy, an Arizona-based fighter who will be taking on former Heisman Trophy-winner and NFL star Herschel Walker as he makes his professional fighting debut this Saturday, January 30 on the Showtime-televised main card of Strikeforce: Miami from BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.

Nagy (1-1 MMA) recently started competing at a professional level in late 2009, winning his first fight last August by way of TKO and losing a Unanimous Decision to Francisco Navarro in November. While he will be taking on a completely green competitor in Herschel Walker, odds-makers have labeled Nagy as a steep underdog heading into the fight, citing Walker’s collegiate football background, all-around athletic history, and training with one of the most respect MMA camps in the country, American Kickboxing Academy, in preparation for the bout.

While some have questioned the validity of Walker competing in a sport as unforgiving as professional MMA, Nagy has been unwilling to make similar remarks. “When you step in the cage that is serious business no matter who you are going against,” in a recent Greg Nagy interview with Scott Dryden of ProFighting-fans.com. “Herschel is a very athletic person; a very high caliber athlete. I’m sure everyone knows about his workout regimen and what not. I’m taking him seriously like a take any other fight seriously because the minute you don’t is the minute you get hurt in there. I’m curious to see how Herschel is going to transition to the fight game. However, I’m not selling him short.”

As far as the fight itself is concerned, Nagy is ready for anything, although he did cite one advantage he believes he will hold over his older opponent: experience. “I think we both will want to feel each other out at first. As far as the transition goes, I don’t think there is anything that can prepare you for the cage. He may be used to competing on a big stage, but it is a little bit different when you are locked in that cage with just one other person. I have two cage fights on my resume so I think that gives me a little bit of an edge. I definitely think he will be anxious to say the least when he steps into that cage,” he said.

Also on the card will be a high-profile contest between WWE superstar Bobby Lashley and all-around MMA personality Wes Sims, a middleweight bout between Robbie Lawler and Strikeforce newcomer Melvin Manhoef, as well as a pair of championship attractions as Nick Diaz and Dream Welterweight Champion Marius Zaromskis battle for the Strikeforce Welterweight Title while Women’s Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos makes her first title defense against veteran Marloes Coenen.
